FC Cincinnati 2/Matchup Notes
The matchup – Cincinnati and Toronto close out a three-match regular season schedule Friday night. Both sides have earned wins in the series, each team defending their home turf. The Orange and Blue scored five against the Young Reds back in May at Scudamore Field before Toronto earned a 3-1 home win at home in July.
Recent results in the series have favored the home team, with the last win for a visiting side coming on March 9, 2025, a 1-0 win for Toronto in Highland Heights.

Another club playing to keep their postseason hopes alive, Toronto FC II enter the Matchweek six points off ninth place Chicago Fire FC II. The nine spot would see the Young Reds earn a spot in MLS NEXT Pro’s newly announced Play-In Round. Toronto has a game in hand over the five teams above them in the table, occupying the 8-12 spots, and can move within three points of eighth place New York City FC II with a win Friday night.
The Young Reds will rely on the goal scoring prowess of Jahmarie Nolan, who leads the team with 10 goals this season. The 16-year-old forward has burst onto the MLS NEX Pro scene in 2026 after making his debut last season. Nolan has been extremely efficient with his chances this year, converting on one of every three shots.
And it isn’t just Nolan who has an eye for goal. Six Toronto players have three or more goals on the year with Elias Khodri and Fletcher Bank leading the rest of the field with five and four goals, respectively. Khodri has scored in three of his last four appearances and has four shot attempts in back-to-back matches.
Bank has five assists to go along with his goal total, which leads all Toronto players. His nine total goal contributions trails only Nolan (10G, 3A), yet the first year forward has not scored or assisted in his last six appearances.
Toronto earned their fifth shutout performance of the season last time out against New York City FC II. It is the first time since May 16 that the Young Reds have held an opponent scoreless. Adisa De Rosario was in net against the Pigeons and made four saves in the contest. De Rosario and Zakaria Nakhly seem to split time in goal, but it is Nakhly who has an advantage in the appearance category, having made 15 to De Rosario’s nine.
