RECAP | FC Cincinnati 2 fall to New England Revolution II on late stoppage time goal

On Sunday evening, FC Cincinnati 2 fell to New England Revolution II, 1-0, at Scudamore Field at NKU Soccer Stadium. The match went into the final minutes of second half stoppage time scoreless before Revolution II scored with one of the last kicks of the game in the 90’+7 minute to take three points.

The FC Cincinnati Academy continued to see players make significant contributions to the FC Cincinnati 2 roster this season as Connor Dale was called up from the U16s to make his MLS NEXT Pro debut. Dale became the eighth academy player this season to make their MLS NEXT Pro debut.

First team forward Kristian Fletcher returned from injury and made his club debut against New England, playing his first competitive minutes in over a year. Fletcher played 45 minutes of action and was replaced by Chance Malilo at the start of the second half. 

Cincinnati will host Columbus Crew 2 on Sunday, June 14 at Scudamore Field at NKU Soccer Stadium at 6 p.m. ET. This will be the third meeting this season between the two sides with FCC 2 earning a 2-1 victory in the last meeting.
