The FC Cincinnati Academy finished out another weekend sweep with the U13, U14 and U19 clubs all dominating out on the pitch. The U19 group picked up a win in Columbus on Saturday, April 13, while the U13 and U14 squads both claimed victories out at Mercy Health Training Center on Sunday, April 14.
The U19s started the weekend with a 5-1 win over FUT Ohio to open the spring season. The Young Garys were spreading the wealth as four players scored goals, including two from Ryan Belal, one unassisted and another off an assist from Jio Mora Gabriel. Mora assisted on one other goal as he was able to find João DaSilva for an open net goal. Illia Tyrkus and Tré Jervier scored the final two of the day for the club, both unassisted.
On day two, the U13s started the home bout for the Young Garys with a 7-2 victory over Javanon FC. Gabriel Jones and Adrian Maldanado combined for five of the seven goals, as Jones tallied a hat trick in the dominant win, one goal scored on a penalty kick, the second unassisted and the third on a pass from Ryan Schlotterbeck. Maldanado collected two goals, one unassisted and one assisted by Gio Garcia. Garcia added a goal of his own off an assist from Jones, as Jones painted the stat sheet with his name. Ryan Schlotterbeck assisted on the final goal as Donovan Bazile found the back of the net to close out the scoring myriad.
The U14s closed out the weekend of games with a 3-0 shutout over Javanon FC. A combined clean sheet from the Young Garys goal keepers, Zach Crider and Grey Meyer, carried the U14 squad to their third shutout of the spring season. It was a team effort as four players had goal contributions, starting off with an opening unassisted goal from Liam Albright. Gaël Huguet added the second goal as he was able to find the back of the net from a free kick strike. Oli Beabout closed out the day for the Orange and Blue Academy as he netted goal number three off a pass from Simon Morell.
The Young Garys are back in action this weekend as they have a full slate of games across all age groups. The U15s and U17s host the Columbus Crew Academy on Saturday, April 20, at MHTC after a weekend off following the Generation adidas Cup. The U19s will also host the Columbus Astray on April 20. The U13s and U14s play in Cincinnati against Beadling on Saturday, April 20. and Sunday, April 21.
