The FC Cincinnati Academy finished another successful weekend after claiming five wins in six matches. The U15s and U17s picked up two wins a piece at MHTC while the U14s tallied a win and the U13s dropped a match.
The U17s opened the weekend with a 5-0 shutout against Minnesota United on Saturday. Kayne Rizvanovich held down the net for the Young Garys in game one. Aldair Flowers notched a brace as he added a third goal contribution with an assist to Spencer Willis. Brandon Bent found the back of the net off a cross from Will Kuisel. Coming off the assist, Kuisel cemented the score at five with a successful penalty kick.
In game two of the weekend, the U17s pitched another shutout as Rizvanovich secured his second clean sheet on Sunday in a 1-0 defensive duel against Chicago Fire. For the second straight day, Kuisel was fouled inside the box and was successful on a penalty kick for the game-winning goal.
The U15s followed suit as the Young Garys won 6-2 in an offensive battle against Minnesota United on Saturday. Chance Malilo continues to shine as he picked up a brace, one goal assisted by Cam Sphire and the other unassisted. Isaiah Izaguirre scored off a pass from David Brimmer to add goal number three. The final three goals were all unassisted as Brimmer, Anson Senter and Harlan Smith were all added to the scoring sheet. On day two, the Orange and Blue were awarded a win off a forfeit against Chicago Fire.
The U14s secured the final win of the weekend as they handled Lou Fusz soundly with a 4-0 shutout. The duo of Sam Sullivan and Gaël Huguet connected for the Orange and Blue as Sullivan added a brace, both goals assisted by Huguet and Huguet scored a goal of his own. Islam Imran joined the goal scoring off a pass from Liam Albright. Grey Meyer was in goal for Cincinnati as he claimed a clean sheet in the victory.
The U13s closed out the weekend for the Orange and Blue as they fell short in a close contest to Lou Fusz 2-1. Donovan Bazile was able to find the back of the net assisted by Ali Divianovic, but it was not enough for the Young Garys.
Up next, the U19s resume UPSL play against Indy Gladiators in Zionsville, Indiana on Saturday, May 4. The U13s, U14s, U15s and U17s all travel to Bridgeview, Illinois to face off against Chicago Fire on Saturday, May 4.
