The FC Cincinnati Academy completed a clean sweep against competition this past week, as every squad picked up wins in dominating fashion. The U13s and U14s played on the road at West Clairmont High School while the U15, U17 and U19s stayed home at the Mercy Health Training Center.
The U13s and U14s claimed a 3-2 win and a 5-0 win, respectively, both against Bavarians SC. The U13s saw Gabriel Jones tally a hat-trick for his second, third and fourth goals of the season. Donovan Bazile picked up one assist in the match.Â
For the U14s, El Rodriguez-Zulueta stole the show, scoring a hat-trick on his birthday. LJ Born and Islam Imran added goals of their own with Simon Morell and Gaël Huguet pickig up assists. Zach Crider and Grey Meyer split time in the shutout win for the Young Garys.
Chance Malilo had the performance of the weekend for the Young Garys, scoring four goals and adding two assists in a 7-0 victory against Lou Fusz. Jared Cardenas assisted on three of Malilo’s goals and found the back of the net himself. Owen Chapman added goal number six while Anson Senter made it seven. Luke Broz defended the net in the win, keeping Lou Fusz off the scoresheet.
The U17s had an equally impressive result, winning 5-0 against Lou Fusz. Stefan Chirila was on the scoresheet twice, finding the back of the net for the second consecutive week. Nico Bobea Torres connected with Daniel Prentice for the third goal of the game, while Torres came right back with a goal of his own off a pass from Will Kuisel. Matthew Samways added the final goal for the group and the goalkeeper duo of Kayne Rizvanovich and Cooper Wiseman combined for the clean sheet.
The U19s closed out the weekend sweep with a 3-2 win against Southern Indiana FC which saw five players score or assist on the day. Chris Nezianya netted one off an assist from Bryan Vasquez and Oscar Huerta scored another with the assist going to Jio Mora. The final of the three goals came from Tre Jervier, set up by Mora for his second assist of the day.
The U13s and U17s kickoff next weekend against Scott Gallagher in St. Louis, Missouri on March 9. The following day, the U15s and U17s play St. Louis CITY in the The Lou on March 10. The U19 squad rounds the week out at home facing FUT Ohio in an exhibition match at MHTC on March 16.
