CINCINNATI – FC Cincinnati have loaned midfielder Tommy McCabe to North Carolina FC. FC Cincinnati announced the signing of McCabe – along with four other 2019 MLS SuperDraft selections – on Wednesday, Feb. 6.
McCabe was a member of the U.S. U-17 Men’s National Team at the 2015 U-17 FIFA World Cup in Chile. He played 61 games, including 60 starts, throughout three seasons at Notre Dame (2016-18). During his junior season, McCabe earned Third-Team All-ACC honors. He tallied two assists during his junior season, totaling four assists during his three seasons. McCabe was named to the TDS Freshman Best XI and the Atlantic Coast Conference All-Freshman Team.
FC Cincinnati’s debut MLS game will be at Seattle Sounders FC on Saturday, March 2, at CenturyLink Field. The Orange and Blue will make their home debut as an MLS team at Nippert Stadium on Sunday, March 17, when the team hosts MLS Cup finalist Portland Timbers at 5 p.m. in a game that will be televised nationally on FS1.
