After a pair of successful seasons, FC Cincinnati Academy’s U15 and U17 squads qualified for the MLS NEXT Flex from May 11-14 in Boyds, Maryland for a chance to play in the league-wide MLS NEXT Cup in June. The Young Garys both finished in the top half of the MLS NEXT Flex league which was played from August 2023 through March 2024.
The U15s finished the winter season in second place in the U15 Mid-America Division with a record of 11-2-1 (34 points). The Young Garys finished the season winning nine of the final ten matches. Group Play consists of three games over a four-day window with the first match on May 11 at 5 p.m. ET against Miami Rush Kendall.
The U17s closed out the season in the U17 Mid-America Division at the top of the table with the most points (12-2-0, 36 points). The Orange and Blue won their final nine games of the season to secure their spot. The U17s begin the first of three Group Play matches on May 11 at 1 p.m. ET against Total Futbol Academy.
Both teams will compete in Group Play, with the winner of each group qualifying for a spot in MLS NEXT Cup. MLS NEXT Cup will take place from June 13-23 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
