FC Cincinnati celebrate Women’s History Month with array of initiatives and events that promote women in sports

20230322 Breaking Barriers 150

In honor of Women’s History Month this March, FC Cincinnati is highlighting the contributions of women in our club and industry by promoting the work they do and sharing it with the next generation.

FC Cincinnati has partnered again with Procter and Gamble’s Secret and Always brands to present the “Breaking Barriers” event at TQL Stadium on March 19. The event will bring together 150 female young professionals to learn more about starting, maintaining and growing their careers in sports. The event will feature a panel of local women in sports and sports media including FCC employees and representatives from all area teams. After the panel, attendees will form into breakout groups led by other women professionals in sports to learn more of their individual experiences in the industry where attendees can ask questions and continue to network.

The club will also highlight women at TQL Stadium when The Orange and Blue take on New York City FC on March 23. Attendees from Breaking Barriers are invited to purchase tickets and sit together to continue networking and build connections beyond the event. Attendees will also be invited to view warm-ups for the match pitch side to get an up close look at FC Cincinnati. All fans in attendance will have an opportunity to submit photos of the women in their life for a chance to win an FC Cincinnati prize.

FCC will also be collaborating with NextUp, a national organization with a local presence in Cincinnati. The partnership aims to advance women in business, which aligns with the club's new FCC University initiative. The initiative focuses on staff development and will extend throughout 2024 and beyond. Several FC Cincinnati staff members will have the opportunity to become NextUp members, which supports the club's goal of supporting staff development.

Featured articles will be available to fans highlighting women owned businesses in Cincinnati and a promotional piece about women leaders in the FC Cincinnati Supporter Groups.

FC Cincinnati’s efforts in support of Women’s History Month support and empower our current and future female leaders within the FCC family.
