FC Cincinnati dropped a 1-0 decision Saturday night to New York Red Bulls in front of 22,141 fans at TQL Stadium.
With the loss, FCC is now 4-15-8 (20 points) for the season. RBNY improved to 9-11-7 (34 points) with the victory.
Former FC Cincinnati player Andrew Gutman scored the match’s lone goal in the 73rd minute. The defender’s left footed shot came after a long run down the left side and beat FCC goalkeeper Przemysław Tytoń.
FC Cincinnati continue a four-match homestand at TQL Stadium next Saturday, October 9 against Philadelphia Union. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET, and the game will be televised on WSTR 64, carried on the radio on The Project – 100.7/106.3 FM, streamed regionally on fccincinnati.com/stream, out of market on ESPN+, while an audio stream will be available via the iHeartRadio app.

“Yeah, I would think so but again if habits, maybe they weren't corrected earlier and they just continue going. This is part of what I'm seeing; you know that we have to get better at, and hopefully, we can address and make sure we are playing with 11 guys on the field. So we got to make sure you are connected with your teammates. It doesn't matter who scores, as long as the ball goes in the net the team's going to get a result and not individual accolades, so I think as a team, we have to get out of that mindset.”
“You can see it. I played at the professional level. I know what it's like, some guys in their contracts, they have clauses where if they get ‘X’ amount of goals, they get bonuses. So for me, when you're not on a winning team, you see a lot more of that individualism come out, you know. So we can try to get away from that now and just kind of push towards the end of the season and see if we can get some more continuity, and hopefully, it will be helpful.
