FC Cincinnati have loaned forward Arquimides ‘Quimi’ Ordoñez to Östersunds FK of the Swedish Superettan through December 31, 2024, with an option to buy, the club announced today.
Ordoñez, 20, signed a first-team contract as a Homegrown Player on July 3, 2021. Later that month, the Fort Thomas, Kentucky native became the first FC Cincinnati Academy product to appear for the first team, when he debuted in Major League Soccer on July 24, 2021 at Nashville SC.
With FC Cincinnati, Ordoñez has made 25 appearances across all competitions. His first goal with the club served as the game-winner in a 1-0 win over Louisville City FC in the 2023 U.S. Open Cup Third Round. With FC Cincinnati 2 in MLS NEXT Pro, Ordoñez has totaled 13 goals in 24 appearances across 2022 and 2023.
Ordoñez broke out for the Guatemalan U-20 National Team in 2022, scoring five goals in six appearances and earning Best XI honors at the Concacaf U-20 Championship as part of Guatemala’s run to the semifinals to qualify for the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup. Ordoñez has additionally earned two caps for the senior Guatemalan National Team.
