FC Cincinnati opened their 2018 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup campaign with a second-round match-up against NPSL giants Detroit City FC. The amateur side pushed the Orange & Blue, but were ultimately overcome in extra time thanks in part to a first professional hat trick for Emery Welshman.
