Could FC Cincinnati's first MLS Designated Player signing make his USL debut for the Orange and Blue this Saturday, Aug. 4, at home against Nashville SC? According to Head Coach Alan Koch, that's a strong possibility.

The veteran Nigerian striker just arrived in the Queen City on Monday following a blockbuster move from Major League Soccer's Portland Timbers. It was announced on Tuesday that his loan move to FC Cincinnati's USL side had received the league seal of approval, making him eligible for selection this weekend.

But it was unclear whether Adi would be in contention for a place in the squad for Saturday's crucial rivalry match at Nippert Stadium against Nashville.

"Every game we play is a big game," offered Coach Koch. "But Saturday will be an even bigger game now because we've obviously brought in a big-time player."

Would Fanendo be getting his first start though?

Koch continued, "We're excited to get him on to the pitch as quickly as we can. So we're excited to put him into the 18, we look forward to embracing him, and see him get out there and make his debut for our club."

Saturday’s game will also be first-place FC Cincinnati’s(13-3-5, 44 pts.) annual “Blue Out” game. Tickets are selling fast and while general admission tickets have sold out, reserved seating tickets are still available online at fccincinnati.com/tickets or by calling 513-977-KICK.
