FC Cincinnati face Club Querétaro tonight at 8 p.m. ET from TQL Stadium. The match will air on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV. The match will air over the radio on iHeart Media ESPN 1530 in English and – for the first time – in Spanish on La Mega 97.7 FM.
Take a look at Thursday’s Leagues Cup Lineup Notes:
- No player in FC Cincinnati’s lineup has played a match previously in their career against Club Querétaro.
- Yuya Kubo will captain FC Cincinnati tonight for the first time in his FC Cincinnati career. He will become the 14th different player to wear the armband in FC Cincinnati history.
- Goalkeeper Roman Celentano makes his first appearance in Leagues Cup play. For FC Cincinnati, the 23-year-old has now appeared in five different competitions (MLS Regular Season, MLS Cup Playoffs, Concacaf Champions Cup, U.S. Open Cup, Leagues Cup).
- FC Cincinnati 2 Goalkeeper Coach Ryan Coulter will be on the bench tonight for FC Cincinnati in place of Paul Rogers, who is recovering from surgery.
- Chidozie Awaziem makes his FC Cincinnati debut tonight. He will become the 93rd different player to appear for FC Cincinnati in an official match since the club joined Major League Soccer in 2019.
- Two FC Cincinnati 2 players make the matchday roster: Nico Benalcazar and Moises Tablante. Benalcazar was on the bench for FCC’s June 29 win at FC Dallas, when he was brought up on a short-term loan agreement. No such loan was needed for Leagues Cup in a different competition.
- 22 players will suit up tonight as part of the expanded rosters for Leagues Cup in comparison to MLS Regular Season play.
- Ian Murphy is the only player to have started all four Leagues Cup matches for FC Cincinnati. He was one of six players to start all three matches last season in the inaugural edition of the expanded competition (Acosta, Barreal, Boupendza, Kann, Murphy, Vazquez).
- Under Pat Noonan, FC Cincinnati are 11-5-5 in non-MLS Regular Season matches. Of those five draws, which went to penalty kick shootouts, the club is 3-2.
