Jaap Stam made one change to his starting XI ahead of Wednesday night’s matchup against Sporting Kansas City.
Jürgen Locadia replaces Álvaro Barreal in the starting lineup for the final home match at Nippert Stadium.
About the starters
Locadia makes his first start since Oct. 7 at the Philadelphia Union, when he left the match early with a hamstring injury. He featured in the 1-0 loss to Minnesota United FC this past weekend.
About the bench
Mathieu Deplagne returns to the bench and could make his first appearance since Oct. 7, when FCC played in Philadelphia.
Saad Abdul-Salaam is back in the matchday squad after missing this past Saturday’s game. He last played Oct. 18 against D.C United.
Yuya Kubo is available for the first time since Oct. 14, when he scored in FC Cincinnati’s #HellisReal Derby win over Columbus Crew SC.
Tommy McCabe awaits his first MLS appearance in 2020. He last played for the club on Oct. 6, 2019, against D.C. United.
Jimmy McLaughlin also awaits his first MLS appearance of the season – and first appearance since 2018. He last played for FCC on Oct. 27, 2018 – more than two years ago. His last MLS appearance was in 2015.
It’s worth noting that if McLaughlin plays, the winger could be the only FCC player to feature in the club’s first and last games at Nippert Stadium.
About the absentees
Allan Cruz, Greg Garza, Caleb Stanko, Przemysław Tytoń, Maikel van der Werff and Barreal will miss this match with injuries.
New signing Franko Kovačević will be added to the roster upon the receipt of his P1 Visa and completion of any mandatory quarantine period under local government and MLS health and safety protocol.
