FC Cincinnati wrap up the second match of a back-to-back road trip with a trip up north to face off against Toronto FC for the third time this season. The Orange and Blue have taken all six points from two previous matchups with the Reds in 2021 and are looking to make it a clean sweep in the first match under interim head coach Tyrone Marshall.

SCOUTING TORONTO FC (4-15-7 – 19 pts – 14th, Eastern Conference)
Toronto FC enters Wednesday unbeaten in three straight matches across all competitions. Saturday the Reds played to a scoreless draw in the Rocky Mountains against Colorado Rapids, which came after beating York United 4-0 in the Canadian Championship quarterfinals and knocking off Nashville SC, 2-1, Saturday, Sept. 18.
Jonathan Osorio leads TFC in goals with four, while Yeferson Soteldo is the midfielder who makes things happen, leading Toronto in assists (7), shots (38) and shots on goal (14). Of course, longtime U.S. International Michael Bradley is a constant in the midfield as well, leading Toronto in matches played and minutes this season.
STORYLINES TO WATCH
FIRST MATCH FOR MARSHALL – Interim manager Tyrone Marshall, along with assistants Larry Sunderland, Ricardo Páez and Cristiano Scapolo will marshal the sidelines for the first time leading FC Cincinnati. Marshall, who has coached in FC Cincinnati’s Academy since February, was previously an assistant coach with Real Salt Lake since 2015. Marshall made over 300 MLS appearances as a player with five different clubs between 1998 and 2012, and won MLS Cup twice with LA Galaxy.
150 AWAITS FOR LUCHO –Captain Luciano Acosta’s next game played will be the 150th of his MLS career. The native of Buenos Aires, Argentina has scored 29 career goals and is FCC’s all-time leader in assists, both in a season and overall (8).
YUYA TACKLES – Midfielder Yuya Kubo has been a constant in the midfield this season for FC Cincinnati. He leads all primary midfielders in MLS this season with 47 successful tackles. He is second overall, trailing only Portland’s Claudio Bravo, who has 52 successful tackles.
