FC Cincinnati today announced that Pinellas County United SC, located in St. Petersburg, Florida, will become the newest addition to the FC Cincinnati Affiliate Program. Pinellas County United SC is the ninth club to join the program and the first non-regional team to partner with FC Cincinnati.
The FC Cincinnati Affiliate Program, initially designed to grow the game in the Cincinnati Tri-State area, has expanded nationally through the partnership with Pinellas County United SC. “We are excited for our club to be officially affiliated with one of the best clubs in Major League Soccer,” said Chris Sessions, President of Pinellas County United SC.
FC Cincinnati’s Affiliate Program creates opportunities and benefits for member clubs by educating coaches and providing opportunities for their young players to learn more about the professional pathway within the MLS.
“We have developed many great relationships with clubs in the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky region in the first two years of running our affiliate program,” said Adrian Parrish, Affiliate Coordinator for the FC Cincinnati Academy. “The ambition shown by the staff at Pinellas County United SC matches that of FC Cincinnati, and we are looking forward to expanding our program in a new and exciting way.”
Pinellas County United SC was founded in 2012 and serves over 1000 boys and girls competing in recreational and competitive competitions each year. “This is a great opportunity for our coaches and players to have access and a pathway to a professional club right here in the United States,” said Don Tobin, Director of Coaching for Pinellas County United SC.
