The U.S. Women’s National Team advanced to the FIFA World Cup Quarterfinals on Monday when they beat Spain 2-1 in the Round of 16 in Reims, France.
With the win, the USWNT will play France, the host, on Friday in Paris. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. ET and the game will be televised on FS1. FCC will be co-hosting watch parties at Fountain Square in downtown Cincinnati and at Molly Malone’s in Covington, Kentucky, with the Cincinnati chapter of the American Outlaws.
Cincinnati native Rose Lavelle started the match and won a penalty kick in the 71st minute, which ultimately proved to be the game-winner when Megan Rapinoe converted for the second time in the game.
