RECAP | Orange and Blue win 5-0 in rout of Toronto FC II

FCC2vsTORii_7311-2

FC Cincinnati 2 earned three points against Toronto FC II Sunday night in a 5-0 win at Scudamore Field at NKU Soccer Stadium. The result marks the Orange and Blue’s second win of the season and is tied for the largest margin of victory over an opponent in club history.

After a quiet opening 45-minutes, much of which was controlled by FCC 2 in the final third, the Orange and Blue found the back of the net five times in the second half of play. Three FCC 2 players scored their first goals for the club in the match.

The Orange and Blue scored twice in the opening six minutes of the second half as FC Cincinnati forward Stefan Chirila scored his second goal of the season in the 48th minute, and Dilan Hurtado found the back of the net for the first time in his MLSNP career in the 51st.

Chirila would find his double at the hour mark to give the Orange and Blue a 3-0 lead. With the goal, Chirila tallies his third career MLSNP brace and has seven matches with two or more goal contributions since making his debut in 2024.

FCC 2 captain Michael Sullivan, who faced his former side for the first time since signing with Cincinnati at the start of the season, made it 4-0 in the 80th, and second half substitute Mathias Vazquez closed things out in the 86th. Both players found the back of the net for the first time with the Orange and Blue.

FC Cincinnati Academy midfielder Camden Sphire made his first career MLSNP start against Toronto, playing 68 minutes. Sphire has made four appearances for the Orange and Blue in 2026 after making his MLSNP debut last year against Chicago Fire FC II.

The Orange and Blue recorded their second clean sheet of the year and haven’t conceded at home since the season opener against CT United FC on March 1.

Academy forward Ryan Schlotterbeck made his MLSNP debut after a successful 2026 Generation adidas Cup run with the U15s, where he scored twice in six matches. Schlotterbeck played 11 minutes in his debut, coming on as a second half substitute.

FC Cincinnati 2 host Columbus Crew 2 next Sunday, May 10, at Scudamore Field at NKU Soccer Stadium at 6 p.m. ET for the second meeting of the season between the two Ohio based clubs. Tickets for the match are available and can be claimed through the FC Cincinnati App.
