2016 – FCC win their first competitive match
FC Cincinnati earned their first USL win four years ago today with a 2-1 win at Bethlehem Steel. It was the club’s second league match and Andrew Wiedeman scored the team’s first goal in the 25th minute. Sean Okoli scored the game winner 10 minutes later.
Cincinnati conceded a goal to Eric Ayuk in the 90th minute, but it wasn’t enough to deny the Orange and Blue three points.
The match ball from that game – signed by the group that played – rests in the trophy case in the Mercy Health Training Center lobby.
Here was the lineup former head coach John Harkes used in the win: Mitch Hildebrandt, Pat McMahon, Austin Berry, Harrison Delbridge, Tyler Polak, Kenney Walker, Ross Tomaselli, Corben Bone, Andrew Wiedeman, Sean Okoli, Jimmy McLaughlin. Harkes made three of a possible five substitutions: Derek Luke, Omar Mohamed, Antoine Hoppenot.
