Loan Roundup: July 10

Welshman

Although no FC Cincinnati players logged minutes in the USL Championship this past week, Emery Welshman returned to Canadian Premier League play following the 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup.

Here’s a breakdown of FCC players on loan last week:

Canadian Premier League update:

Emery Welshman

Position: Forward

Club: Forge FC

Result: 2-1 loss against FC Edmonton

Back international duty with Guyana in the Gold Cup, Emery Welshman started and played the full match against Edmonton. The match was the first of the CPL’s Fall Season. During the Spring Season, Forge FC finished second with 19 points from 10 matches, while Calvary FC had 24 points from as many games.

The striker created two created chances and finished with an 80% passing accuracy from 30 passes, but didn’t attempt a shot on target. Former FC Cincinnati forward Tomi Ameobi scored for FC Edmonton.

Before the loss, Welshman’s last match with Forge FC was in May ahead of playing in the Gold Cup with the Golden Jaguars.

USL Championship

Ben Lundt

Position: Goalkeeper

Club: Louisville City FC

Result: 2-1 win against Nashville SC

Lundt is currently recovering after surgery and should be available for the two-time reigning champs later this month.

Hassan Ndam

Position: Defender

Club: Charlotte Independence

Result: 1-1 draw at North Carolina FC, 1-0 win against Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC

The Cameroonian center back was an unused sub in both the draw with North Carolina FC and the win against Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC. Ndam has made five USL Championship appearances this season.

Nazmi Albadawi

Position: Midfielder

Club: North Carolina FC

Result: 1-1 draw against Charlotte Independence

Similar to Hassan Ndam, Nazmi Albadawi also didn’t play in the North Carolina derby match. The only difference, though, was the midfielder wasn’t included in the 18. That said, he’s been an integral component to NCFC’s 2019 campaign since he returned to the club on loan.
