Three of FC Cincinnati’s 2019 MLS SuperDraft picks featured for their current USL clubs this past week, which included a match between two FCC players. Here’s a look at how they fared:
Rashawn Dally
Position: Forward
Club: Memphis 901 FC
Result: 2-1 loss at Louisville City FC (April 30), 2-2 draw against Birmingham Legion FC (May 4)
Dally made two appearances, including one start, for Memphis this past week.
In the loss in Louisville, he entered the match in the 59th minute as a sub for the first time this season. He created one chance – an 87th-minute shot that was off target – and completed a successful cross.
Against Birmingham, the Jamaican started and played 61 minutes. He was yellow carded a minute prior to being subbed off. As for his attacking productivity, he had two shots, a chance created and a cross. The chance created was a saved shot on target.
So far this season, Dally has 10 appearances and 14 shots – eight of which were on frame. He has one goal.
Ben Lundt
Position: Goalkeeper
Club: Louisville City FC
Result: 2-1 win against Memphis 901 FC
Lundt made his seventh-straight start for City in the win and produced one save. He also showed his versatility with 79.4% passing accuracy, which highlights his foot-work ability.
The reigning USL Championship champions are unbeaten in their last three matches.
Tommy McCabe
Position: Midfielder
Club: North Carolina FC
Result: 0-0 draw at Indy Eleven
McCabe started and played the full match in North Carolina FC’s match at Indy Eleven. McCabe had a 79.5% passing accuracy, won three duels, two tackles and made two clearances.
The center midfielder has played all but one match for NCFC – and that absence was due to squad rotation.
Hassan Ndam
Position: Defender
Club: Charlotte Independence
Result: 1-1 draw at Hartford Athletic
Ndam didn’t make the 18 against Hartford in Saturday’s match, which is understandable after joining Charlotte on loan last week. Before that, the 20-year-old Cameroonian defender had been training with FC Cincinnati.
The loan move is a chance for Ndam to develop and receive first-team minutes.
Logan Gdula
Position: Defender
Club: Phoenix Rising FC
Result: 2-1 loss at Orange County SC
Gdula didn’t make the 18 in the Rising’s setback. The fullback had an injury setback to start the season that he’s working back from.
Canadian Premier League update:
Emery Welshman
Position: Forward
Club: Forge FC
Result: 2-1 loss at HFX Wanderers FC
Welshman started and played the full match in Forge FC’s second-ever match.
While the club lost, it carried 58.2% of the possession and created 10 shots, with four finding the target.
