Logan Gdula was the only FC Cincinnati player on loan to feature in a match this past weekend. Here’s a full roundup of how FC Cincinnati players on loan fared this weekend:
Logan Gdula
Position: Defender
Club: Hartford Athletic
Result: 1-0 loss against Louisville City FC
The rookie defender started at center back and, despite the loss, had an impressive match statistically.
Gdula completed 49 passes with an 87.8% passing accuracy and had a season-high 10 duels won. Offensively, the center back produced two shots on target and a cross. Defensively, he won three tackles, made two interceptions and had a clearance.
While Hartford has struggled this season, Gdula’s played well transitioning between fullback and center back. In 2019, he’s played across the backline for the USL Championship expansion side. When he was picked No. 13 in the MLS SuperDraft, FC Cincinnati wanted him to play as an outside back.
Ben Lundt
Position: Goalkeeper
Club: Louisville City FC
Result: 1-0 win at Hartford Athletic
Lundt wasn’t in the 18 to face his fellow FCC SuperDraft pick, and the German goalkeeper hasn’t played since June because of an injury. When Cincinnati lost, 5-1, to Toronto FC on Sept. 7, Lundt was at the match wearing a boot.
Forrest Lasso
Position: Defender
Club: Nashville SC
Result: Did Not Play
Lasso and Nashville SC had the weekend off, but will return to the field Tuesday night against Birmingham Legion. The matchup is one with huge implications.
Nashville is fourth in the Eastern Conference standings, but could leapfrog to third and secure a spot in the playoffs for a second straight season. Of course, FC Cincinnati beat Nashville via a penalty shootout in the 2018 USL Cup Playoffs.
Nazmi Albadawi
Position: Midfielder
Club: North Carolina FC
Result: 1-0 loss to Swope Park Rangers
Albadawi didn’t play in North Carolina FC’s loss, which isn’t surprising given his busy week in the leadup to the match. Last Tuesday, Albadawi was in Singapore representing Palestine in a 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifier. He played two matches for the Palestinians during the FIFA international break.
Hassan Ndam
Position: Defender
Club: Charlotte Independence
Result: 2-0 loss at New York Red Bulls II
Although on loan, Ndam didn’t feature for Charlotte Independence and spent the weekend with FC Cincinnati. He trained with the Orange and Blue on Monday morning.
