FC Cincinnati defender nick Hagglund has been named to Major League Soccer’s Team of the Week for Week 18. It is his second Team of the Week selection of the 2020 MLS regular season – he was also named to Team of the Week following FC Cincinnati’s Week 12 victory against the New York Red Bulls on Sept. 19.
Hagglund scored his first goal as an FC Cincinnati player in the Orange and Blue’s 2-1 win against Columbus Crew SC on Wednesday, Oct. 14. The Cincinnati native connected on Haris Medunjanin’s free kick delivery into the box to give FCC the decisive tally in the 49th minute of the match.
The center back won 10-of-12 duels, including 8-of-10 aerial duels. In addition, he recorded eight clearances, three interceptions and two blocks, leading the Orange and Blue in all three categories.
Hagglund has made six appearances, including four starts, for FC Cincinnati this season.
FC Cincinnati will be back in action on Sunday, Oct. 18 when they will play D.C. United at Nippert Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET, and the game will be televised on WSTR 64, carried on the radio on WDJO (99.5 FM, 107.9 FM and 1480 AM), streamed regionally on fccincinnati.com/stream, out of market on ESPN+, while an audio stream will be available at TuneIn (WDJO) and fccincinnati.com.
